Needs/ Problem statement
Spain concentrates the 93% of the avocado production in Europe. Malaga and Granada (Andalusian provinces) have the 88% of the total production. In Spain, 2 thousand tons of avocado bone and skin are discarded annually. These by products have become an issue to the processing industries due to its negative environmental impact.
Objective
Create a circular economy system using by-products from the avocado industry to give them a commercial outlet in the agri-food, nutraceutical and cosmetical sectors.
