Integrated waste recovery for a sustainable olive sector
Description
Use of olive trees residues to produce compost
Sector
A1.6Support activities to agriculture and post-harvest crop activities
Needs/ Problem statement
The reuse and recovery of olive by-products are essential to reduce environmental pollution and contribute to increasing the efficiency of the agricultural and industrial sectors involved and reduce their production costs.
Objective
Use of pond effluents (sludge) and olive residues for the production of agricultural fertiliser of differentiated quality through the transfer of knowledge generated at the UGR and the CSIC.
