Small Biogas Demonstration Programme

Description

Small scale biogas production from on-farm feedstock

Sector

A1.6Support activities to agriculture and post-harvest crop activities

Needs/ Problem statement

The intensification of Irish agriculture, particularly in dairying, has raised concerns about its environmental impact as it is a significant contributor to carbon emissions and deteriorating water quality. There is a need for specific tools to further reduce this impact.

Objective

The Small Biogas Demonstration Project (SBDP) aims to promote on-farm small-scale biogas production using anaerobic digestion. SBDP seeks to contribute to reducing emissions and enhancing environmental stewardship.
