Biochar: innovations obtained through carbonizations tested in Amiata and Maremma
Description
discontinuous biochar production
Sector
A2.4Support services to forestry
Needs/ Problem statement
to develop and validate a new generation of products, based on the partial pyrolysis of ligno-cellulosic biomass deriving from forestry, agri-forestry and agronomic activities
Objective
A discontinuous vertical mobile furnace capable of carbonizing ligno-cellulosic material of variable sizes will be prototyped, characterized by mechanical filling and discharge, leachate recovery, partial recovery of thermal energy, continuous control of temperature and gas flows
