PL93- Bazydrill /Bazydrill

Innovative technical solutions used in a seeder for overseeding grasslands to improve the quantity and quality of feed for ruminants and protect soils, waters and climate

Description

a seeder for overseeding grasslands to improve the quantity and quality of feed for ruminants and protect soils, waters and climate

Sector

A1.5Mixed farming

Needs/ Problem statement

improvement of taste and nutritional properties of meat and dairy products, higher work efficiency thanks to simultaneous sowing of seeds and fertilizers, lower nitrogen losses to waters

Objective

The objective of the operation is to improve the efficiency of grassland overdrilling as well as improve the quality and amount of livestock fodder by means of new technological solutions in a seed drill, and use of herb species in seed mixes (alongside grasses and legumes). Soil, water and climate protection is a corollary objective.

Outcomes and final product

Improved efficiency of grassland overdrilling, smaller seed and fertiliser loss, smaller soil humidity loss, fuel savinga, increased productivity, and smaller labour input thanks to an improved seed drill equipped with an innovative coulter system with adjusted seeding depth, a seed mixer and fertiliser box and a GPS device for traction control during the seeding

Intended user

The impact of the operation will be particularly significant in regions of Poland (Podlasie and Lublin), with a large share of UZ in UAA as well as separate shares in organic soil. Nevertheless, the application of this operation will cover nationwide and European areas, primarily in countries with similar climatic conditions.
