Development and implementation of a pilot process line for the prevention of emissions of volatile organic compounds arising from the high-temperature rendering of fat from Category III animal material

Description

a pilot technological line for the emission of volatile organic compounds generated in the smelting process from Category III animal material

Sector

A1.4Animal production

Needs/ Problem statement

The superior aim of conducted project is a qualitative change which is defined as reduction of odorous volatile organic compounds emission to the nearest surrounding - Factory area - as well as to further surrounding - whole environment.

Objective

(1) Increase of ecological purity of the process so that biodegradation does not move pollution from one environmental phaze to the other (2) Reduction of investment outlay value of biological air purification process in relation to other methods such as thermical or catalytic combustion. (3) Reduction of exploatation costs through lower energy consumption. (4) Reduction of investment outlay value through the use of existing infrastructure such as waterwaste plants. (5) Increase of positive ecological effect through elimination of the need to use expensive and non-ecological chemical compounds. Instead of which using volatile organic compounds as an alternative source of organic carbon for biocenotic organisms being used in activated sludge technology.

Outcomes and final product

Development and implementation of a pilot technological line for the emission of volatile organic compounds generated in the smelting process from Category III animal meat - creating an innovative BIOFILTER. Results: 1) small LZO in the emitted output into the stream decreased by 94%, 2) condensed ammonium condensate decreased by 95%. A group of two such as trimethylamines, isobasic acid, and formaldehyde have decreased by at least 91% such as the brand to stream concentration. Average reduction ratio for BIOFILTER 93.39%.
