New preparations for optimizing the biomass of energy plants of the second generation
Description
Development of new biological or chemical preparations to enhance growth and biomass yield of second-generation energy crops. Focus is on improving plant productivity and biomass quality for bioenergy applications.
Sector
A1.2Growing of perennial crops
Needs/ Problem statement
Current yields of second-generation energy crops are limited by suboptimal growth and environmental conditions. There is a need for effective preparations to optimize biomass production for bioenergy.
Objective
The project aims to create and test new preparations that stimulate growth and maximize biomass yield of energy crops. This will improve the efficiency and sustainability of bioenergy feedstock production.

Outcomes and final product
Functional sample of a biopreparate enhancing biomass growth and modulating cellulose content in Miscanthus x giganteus and other second-generation energy crops (RIV 44555601:13440/23:43898324). Based on biochar from dried sewage sludge, tested on marginal and contaminated soils.
